About Us

Our Work

A Community for Virginians Living with Bleeding Disorders

For over 50 years, the Virginia Bleeding Disorders Foundation (VABDF) (formerly, the Virginia Hemophilia Foundation) has been a place where individuals and families affected by inherited bleeding disorders could find support, connection, and trusted resources.

Founded in 1975 by parents, patients, doctors, and nurses, VABDF was created to ensure that no one facing a bleeding disorder would have to navigate it alone.

Today, we continue to bring Virginians together through education, advocacy, and community programs that improve quality of life and expand access to care across the Commonwealth.

Our Mission

VABDF is dedicated to serving and supporting the needs of those impacted by bleeding disorders through education, advocacy, and community.

There is no official “membership” for VABDF. However, to be sure you receive information about the many events and programs that VABDF offers please subscribe to our email list here.
