From September 11 -13, over 200 VABDF community members gathered in Williamsburg at Great Wolf Lodge for a weekend of connecting and learning. We heard from speakers about heavy menstrual bleeding, iron deficiency, artificial intelligence in healthcare, at-home infusions, and belonging among communities affected by von Willebrand disease, platelet disorders, rare factor deficiencies, and other bleeding disorders. We hosted rap sessions for women, men, teens/young adults, and new families, allowing these unique identities to engage, connect, and share in a small and supportive group setting. In between sessions and after hours, we enjoyed the water park and arcade on site, connecting as a community beyond bleeding disorders. And most importantly, we received feedback directly from the community about what programming you all want to see in the future.
